Veterans Day is not until Tuesday, but San Marcos will host a Veterans Parade Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The parade will begin on Hopkins Street at the intersection of CM Allen Parkway and will travel toward the Hays County Courthouse. After passing the courthouse, the parade will turn left onto Guadalupe Street, then turn left onto San Antonio Street, travel down San Antonio Street and turn left onto CM Allen Parkway.
Street closures for the parade will begin at 7:30 a.m. Pre-parade activities will take place on the Hays County Courthouse lawn beginning at 9 a.m. After the parade, check out the San Marcos roller derby league match at 3 p.m., with Team GI Joe taking on Team Barbie at 301 River Ridge Parkway.
Admission begins at 2 p.m. Entry is $10 with 10years-old and under free. Guests can receive half-price tickets by wearing a San Marcos River Rollers T-shirt. The River Rollers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for local families in need this holiday season.
