13 players have been suspended including six Texas State football players for their roles in an on-the-field brawl following the conclusion of last Saturday’s game.
“There is no place for this type of behavior in college football,” Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Keith Gill. “This unfortunate postgame incident overshadowed what was a competitive regional rivalry game on the field. While the spirit of competition is central to what we do in college athletics, postgame actions like these will not be tolerated in the Sun Belt Conference.”
Senior defensive end Tymere Jackson was suspended two games while junior Khamari Terrell, sophomore Justin DeLeon, sophomore Kyran Bourda, sophomore J.P. Deeter and junior Devarrick Woods were giving one-game suspensions.
