A man was arrested for allegedly masturbating in his vehicle at a bus stop in Buda, according to the Hays County Sheriff's Office.
Hays County records show that Eric Joseph Michael Guzman, 24, was arrested for indecent exposure on Nov. 4 and booked in the Hays County Jail.
Bryant Cuadros, an official with the Hays County Sheriff's Office, said deputies received a report at 8:49 a.m. on Oct. 8 of a male subject allegedly masturbating in the driver's seat of his vehicle. The suspect was seen by a parent who just picked up their child at the bus stop at Red Bird Trail and Mockingbird Lane, which is just outside of the city limits of Buda.
"The witness provided a detailed and accurate description of the suspect and the vehicle, which proved instrumental in identifying the suspect," Cuadros said. "The investigation did not find that any children in the area or on the bus witnessed Guzman’s actions. The parent was the sole witness but felt the need to take immediate action to shield her child from observing the behavior."
Following the investigation, a warrant for Guzman’s arrest was obtained and executed by the HCSO Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit.
"We commend the reporting parent for her attentiveness, courage, and willingness to come forward," Cuadros said. "Her decisive actions were vital to identifying and apprehending the suspect and helping protect children in our community."
