A Lockhart man is facing multiple charges after Kyle Police located narcotics and a stolen handgun while investigating a suspicious vehicle early Wednesday morning.

According to a press release issued by Kyle PD, officers patrolling the 20,000 block of I-35 located Joshua Gillum, 42, in his vehicle with a stolen handgun, a distributable amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as a digital scale, baggies and pipes.

Gillum attempted to flee on foot from officers during questioning. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:  

·Theft of a firearm 

·Manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance 

·Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon 

·Unlawful carrying of a weapon 

·Possession of a controlled substance 

·Possession of marijuana 

·Evading arrest
