The City of San Marcos is now accepting donations for its fourth annual Winter Heater Drive. Space heaters donated during the initiative will be distributed to residents through The Salvation Army San Marcos.
“Each year, our community shows incredible generosity through the Winter Heater Drive,” said Assistant Director of Electric Utilities Brian McHenry. “These donations help families stay safe and comfortable during the colder months and remind us of the power of neighbors helping neighbors.”
Anyone interested in helping neighbors in need who do not have or cannot afford heating can purchase heaters through the SMTX Utilities Amazon wish list or make monetary donations through the online payment service Stripe at sanmarcostx. gov/AboutSMTX U.
All contributions will be used to purchase new heaters for distribution to people in need of assistance. Heaters purchased through the Amazon wish list will be delivered directly to the Public Services Center, 2217 E. McCarty Lane, and distributed to members of the community.
Heaters will be accepted through Dec. 12, 2025. San Marcos residents interested in receiving a free heater are encouraged to reach out to The Salvation Army San Marcos at 512-7548541 to get on the wait list.
