The Lady Rattlers basketball team took home the consolation first place in the Gold Division at the Corpus Christi Riviera Roundup, finishing with a 4-1 record at the tournament.
San Marcos improves to 5-2 for the season.
Following a tough loss to Cedar Park Vista Ridge, the Lady Rattlers bounced back on Thurday with a pair of dominant wins, beating Corpus Christi Ray 77-8 and San Antonio Stevens 6919.
The Lady Rattlers lost their first game of the tournament in a thriller, falling to San Antonio Marshall 52-51. Later in the day, San Marcos rebounded and defeated PSJA North 50-40.
San Marcos closed out the tournament with a 49-19 win over Austin LASA.
Senior Melayna Perkins and junior Rileigh Good were selected to the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Rattlers are back home Tuesday in a showdown of the snakes, going up against the San Antonio Reagan Rattlers.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Snake Pit in San Marcos.
Bobcats fall to Baylor at NCAA Tournament Texas State’s soccer team fell in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to the Baylor Bears 3-0.
The Bobcats finish the season with a 10-4-7 overall record, appearing in their first NCAA Tournament since 2011. Texas State won their first Sun Belt Conference tournament title in program history in their last year of the conference before moving into the Pac-12 next year.
Rattlers fall in season opener to Medina Valley The Rattlers basketball team opened their season on the road in Medina Valley where San Marcos fell to the Panthers 5451.
San Marcos will be on the road against San Antonio LEE before playing their first home game Friday night against Austin Crockett.
