On Tuesday morning around 11 a.m., the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center called the San Marcos Police Department in regards to an attempted escape from the facility located at 2250 Clovis Barker Road.
According to Brett Littlejohn, administrator of the Juvenile Detention Center, two residents were involved in the incident.
“Neither resident physically left the secure area/property, but did try to evade supervision by our staff in an effort to escape according to their statements,” Littlejohn said in a statement.
SMPD subsequently charged the duo with Attempted Escape, and both cases will be forwarded to juvenile probation to be handled in juvenile court.
