Aside from hosting musical events and broadcasting news and information, your true community radio station provides services to the community in the form of Public Service Announcements, promotion of events, hosting school tours of the studio, remote broadcasting, and offering new musical talent an opportunity for world-wide exposure.

We perform public service announcements as a service to our listening audience. PSAs may be submitted in the form of written copy to be read and recorded by one of our staff or as a recorded file. Promoting other events, music or otherwise, is also a service that we may provide. Contact one of our volunteer staff members for more information.

Playing your music on the air is something else we do for our community. Letting our radio hosts know what you’d like to hear is one way we do that. However, if you happen to be in a band or other sort of musical group, KZSM can help you get exposure. We have programs whose radio hosts often host live performers during their radio programs. Playing a live set in the Kissing Alley during one of our concerts or playing your music on the air are other possibilities. Let us help you get started.

Bring your lawn chairs or your blankets to the courthouse lawn on Saturday, July 13 for the Second Saturday concert. Then, in August, KZSM will return to the Kissing Alley on August 15 as we revive the Kissing Alley concert series! Third Thursday has never been more fun! Our concert will begin at 6 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m. as it did before. We will end the evening with Karaoke in the Kissing Alley, so plan to come out and howl with us in the Alley.

Details will soon be released on the upcoming Summer Metal Fest, hosted by our own Godson of Heavy Metal, Metal Mark. The event is being planned for the end of this month. Rob Roark is brewing up something special to celebrate his 150th live band performance on Revolving Door. His plan is to invite performers who have appeared live on his show to come back for a special night of celebration. Way to go, Rob.

Come and meet the crew. Our next volunteer staff meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Wake the Dead Coffee House. Bring your ideas and suggestions on how we may better serve our community.
