If you are looking for a way to kick off your holiday season with good cheer, please join The Purgatory Creek Chorale for Christmas By The River. Come enjoy an evening full of carols and Christmas favorites sung by the PCC Chamber Choir. This concert will have something for everyone including an audience sing-along to get you in the Christmas spirit. Christmas By The River is Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at the United Campus Ministries Church on the Texas State Campus.
The Purgatory Creek Chorale is San Marcos’ very own choral collective that was officially founded in 2023. PCC’s professional ensembles, Chamber Choir and Early Music Ensemble, feature accomplished artists from around Central Texas. The Masterworks Choir is the largest ensemble and is composed of both professional and community singers, ranging in age from 16 to 86. The Purgatory Creek Chorale has performed for thousands of audience members in San Marcos and the surrounding communities over the years and is continually working to expand their reach.
As an organization, PCC is committed to engaging with the community in meaningful ways. This season, they are partnering with the San Marcos Animal Shelter, which will be speaking at all of their concerts. PCC believes that choral music is for everyone and strives to make concerts accessible for their audiences. Concert tickets are priced on a pay-whatyou- can basis, so everyone can choose their own ticket price.
