The Kyle Police Department is investigating two separate road rage incidents that recently escalated into physical assaults.

The first incident occurred on the evening of Oct. 27, when a driver followed another from Austin to their Kyle residence and physically assaulted them on their property. Warrants are currently active for the suspect involved.

A second, unrelated incident took place in the early afternoon of Nov. 12. In this case, a driver was followed to the 19000 block of the Interstate 35 frontage road and assaulted in a parking lot after exiting their vehicle, according to the Kyle police department. The suspect, Chad Cortez, 49, of Kyle, was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury.

The Kyle Police Department reminds drivers to remain calm and avoid confrontation in stressful traffic situations. If you find yourself involved in a road rage incident or believe another driver is following you: - Do not stop or exit your vehicle.

- Avoid making eye contact or responding to aggressive behavior.

- Drive to the nearest police department.

- Call 911 immediately if you feel threatened or unsafe.

The Kyle Police Department remains committed to maintaining safe roadways and holding accountable anyone who engages in reckless or violent behavior
