The holidays are the time to gather and give and what better place to do both than San Marcos’ own honky-tonk. “The David Beck’s Holiday Round Up,” featuring a ‘sleigh-load’ of songwriters, kicks off at Cheatham St. Warehouse on Thursday Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. Presented by local musician David Beck, the concert is $20 with 100% of proceeds benefiting the SIMS Foundation.
The foundation provides mental health and substance use recovery services and support for musicians, music industry professionals, and their dependent family members. Through education, community partnerships, and accessible managed care, the goal of SIMS is to destigmatize and reduce mental health and substance use issues, while supporting and enhancing the wellbeing of the music community at large.
Over the past decade, David Beck and Dees Stribling have produced numerous records for regional artists. The “Round Up” is a way for all of those folks to meet up, share their songs and help out a good cause. Cheatham Street Warehouse is an iconic hub for Texas musicians. There is no better place for a Hill Country holiday get-together. The attendees can expect unique performances from their favorite emerging Central Texas artists and raffle items from beloved Texas brands.
