Crockett Superstars Shine with over 550 Acts of Kindness

The students at Crockett Elementary raised over $16,500 to fund class field trips, classroom incentives and teacher appreciation for the 2025-2026 school year. Crockett Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) used a kindness-focused fundraising campaign called Raise Craze. During the fundraiser, students showed their appreciation to donors by completing acts of kindness for others. At the end of the three-week campaign, the students completed 557 acts of kindness and raised $16,664.65.

“What I love most about Raise Craze is that it shifts the focus from fundraising to kindness. At Crockett, students are more excited about completing Acts of Kindness (AOKs) than counting dollars, and as a parent, that’s incredibly refreshing to see. Kindness truly blooms here,” parent and fundraiser lead Alison Brake said. Students have done everything from carving pumpkins for the elderly to making someone smile by hiding kind messages for them to find. One student even fed starving neighborhood cats. Many small acts of kindness have a big impact on the community. Students connected with family and friends from their local community and across the nation including 33 states from Alaska to Maine.

In addition to individual acts of kindness, the school partnered with a few local organizations in the area. Students brought donations for the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Shelter and for the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter. On Tuesday, Oct. 28 students celebrated their achievement in gradelevel assemblies, which included getting to cover Crockett Principal Dr. Analeasa Holmes, in silly string or bubbles, to recognize students who received the most donations and completed the most acts of kindness.
