The Hays County Historic Courthouse will shine bright as the county hosts its annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra invited residents across the county to gather on the courthouse lawn for an evening of holiday music, lights and a visit from Santa Claus.
“This event is a cherished tradition that brings our community together,” Becerra said. “We look forward to celebrating the season with music, lights and holiday cheer for families of all ages.”
The program begins at 6:15 p.m. with a performance by the San Marcos High School Orchestra. Santa will arrive at 6:40 p.m. for the courthouse lighting countdown. At 7 p.m., San Marcos Mariachi will take the stage, followed by the Lehman High School Choir at 7:30 p.m. The evening concludes with a performance from the Lehman High School Mariachi at 8 p.m.
Santa Claus will be available for photos during the event, and families are encouraged to bring their own cameras.
The celebration will take place at the Hays County Historic Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St. in San Marcos. Admission is free and open to the public.
