Texas State’s Brad Jackson was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award’s Player of the Week following his standout performance in the win over South Alabama on Saturday. The award recognizes the best offensive player for the week who played football at and graduated from a Texas High School and/or is currently playing at Texas D1 four-year college.

Jackson threw for 280 yards and a pair of touchdowns while rushing for 113 yards and a career-high three scores en route to tying the TXST single-season rushing touchdown record. Jackson finished the 12-game regular season slate with a rushing TD in 10 games, eight games with a passing and a rushing TD, five games with multiple rushing TDs and two 100-yard rushing performances.

He became only the fifth Bobcat in program history to pass for 3,000+ yards and is second in total offense, just 190 yards shy of current TXST running backs coach Barrick Nealy’s record. Jackson’s 16 rushing TDs in 2025 match the mark set by Claude Mathis in 1996.

Jackson was also recognized on the Davey O’Brien Awards Great 8 and as a Manning Award Star of the Week.

After winning three straight to close out the 2025 regular season, the Bobcats are bowl eligible for the third straight year and await selection information.
