Bryan Escobar has announced his campaign for Hays County Commissioner, Precinct 2, the seat currently held by Michelle Cohen. His campaign focuses on experience, accountability, and strong leadership for local families, according to a press release from Escobar.
Precinct 2 runs along the I-35 corridor from East Buda to Kyle and includes downtown Kyle. Primary elections for this seat are scheduled for March 3 and general elections are scheduled for Nov. 3 of 2026.
Escobar has worked for decades as a business consultant and has run multiple businesses. He has helped families, companies and local agencies fix problems and improve broken systems, according to the press release.
“I’m running because Precinct 2 needs leadership with real experience,” Escobar said. “For years, people have called me when something important breaks or needs to be fixed the right way. I’m ready to bring that same steady leadership to this office.”
Escobar said he is not running as a politician, but as a working neighbor who understands what families deal with every day. He believes Precinct 2 needs better planning, safer roads and responsible budgeting.
“Precinct 2 is full of hard-working families, and they deserve a commissioner who works just as hard,” he said. “I’m ready to bring a wave of competence to county government.”
According to his campaign website, Escobar says his goals as a Commissioner would include:
•Identifying waste and outdated processes
•Restoring trust by making spending easier for taxpayers to understand
•Strengthening oversight without raising taxes
•Improving road conditions and easing congestion •Ensuring development pays its fair share For more information, visit EscobarFor-Hays.com or email Escobarforhays@ gmail.com
