The Wimberley Players are excited to announce open auditions for their upcoming production of ‘Deathtrap,’ the celebrated comedic thriller by Ira Levin. Under the direction of the BroadwayWorld Austin awardwinning Rebecca Woods, this suspense-filled crowd-pleaser promises sharp wit, unexpected twists, and an unforgettable night of theatre.
Auditions will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Wimberley Playhouse. Callbacks (if needed) are scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 22. All roles are open, and performers of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to attend.
‘Deathtrap’ follows a once-successful playwright who concocts a dangerous scheme to revive his career, blending mystery, dark humor, and psychological intrigue. The production offers dynamic roles and an opportunity for actors to explore a smart, stylish script that continues to captivate audiences.
Rehearsals will begin shortly after the holiday, with performances slated for Feb. 20-March 15, 2026.

She won two 2024 BroadwayWorld Austin Awards for her depiction of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde which included Best Performer in a Musical — in the entire Austin area and for her set design on Legally Blonde earning her the Best Scenic Design of a Play or Musical award.
