‘Pancakes With Grinch’ celebrates Christmas at Cuauhtemoc Hall

LOCAL EVENTS

La Sociedad Mutualista Cuauhtemoc, a nonprofit organization in San Marcos since 1942, hosted “Pancakes With Grinch” at Cuauhtemoc Hall, 1100 Patton St., on Saturday morning.

Children and parents from throughout the community made ornaments, decorated cupcakes, wrote letters to Santa and played Christmas games after enjoying a free breakfast of pancakes, sausages and orange juice.

Live music was provided by Mariachi Juvenil, made up of middle school students from the Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos mariachi program. Centro also organized a charity raffle with popular prizes, including a vintage Fender Telecaster guitar.

Raising Cane’s donated free kids’ meal certificates for the children who attended.

One of the favorite attractions was the opportunity to take photos with the Grinch, who replaced Santa as the host. The Grinch is more popular this year, according to Cuauhtemoc Hall festivity coordinator Dianna Price.

“It’s the Grinchy season,” she said. “We want to give people a chance to have fun and enjoy a little Grinchmas spirit.”

The organization is committed to fostering community spirit and creating joyful moments for children. For more information, see the La Sociedad Cuauhtemoc Facebook page at facebook. com/CuauhtemocHall.
