Paula Gomez Garcia proudly represented the San Marcos FFA Chapter at the Texas FFA Leadership Development Event State Semifinals, held at Sam Houston State University. The semifinals brought together the top 24 Spanish Creed speakers from across Texas.
To reach this level, Garcia had to advance through four rounds of competition — placing in the top two at the district contest, the top two at the area contest, earning a spot in the top 10 at the state semifinals, and then competing once more to determine the overall Top 10 in the state.
Garcia learned that she had secured her place as one of the Top 10 Spanish Creed Speakers in Texas, earning the opportunity to compete for the state title on Dec. 7. After delivering another outstanding performance, Paula finished the contest ranked third in the state for Spanish Creed.
