Over the past three months, San Marcos Police Narcotics investigators worked a joint investigation that put a significant amount of methamphetamine out of circulation and landed two traffickers behind bars — Karin Erika Mince, 48, and Marcos Antonio Hernandez, 36.

Beginning in October, SMPD partnered with the Seguin Police Department CASE Unit and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division to target Mince, a known meth distributor operating in the city of Seguin and across Hays and Guadalupe counties. That investigation led to the seizure of roughly 14 ounces of meth and 7.5 grams of cocaine.

Follow-up investigation identified Hernandez, an associate who was later caught delivering a full kilogram of meth during a controlled operation in December. Additional search warrants uncovered another half-kilo of meth, counterfeit pills believed to contain fentanyl, and other drugs.
