The Texans’ win streak reached 14 games as Wimberley defeated rival Geronimo Navarro 81-40.
The No. 10-ranked Texans improve to 16-1 for the season while Navarro falls to 6-11.
Wimberley got off to a great start, scoring 28 points in the first quarter, but Navarro was able to keep up with the Texans. Going into the second quarter, Wimberley led 28-14.
The Texans refused to let up, scoring another 28 points while the defense bunkered down and held Navarro to just nine points. At halftime, Wimberley led 56-23.
Wimberley continued their relentless offensive pace in the second half, as the Texans won 81-40.
The Texans are back home Friday night against the Burnet Bulldogs. Burnet enters the game with a 60-42 win over the Brownwood Lions to improve their overall record to 10-5.
Tip-off for Wimberley and Burnet is set for 3 p.m. Friday at Texan Gym in Wimberley.
