The Rattlers fell in their road nondistrict game, losing to the San Antonio Southwest Legacy Titans 56-41.
San Marcos falls to 711 while Southwest Legacy improves to 12-7.
The Rattlers and the Titans battled in a very competitive game through three quarters of play.
Going into the fourth quarter, San Marcos trailed 40-37.
The Titans outscored the Rattlers 16-4 in the fourth quarter, leading to San Marcos’ 56-41 defeat.
Seniors Peter Aguilar, Ernest Lozano and freshman Tytan Crayton led the team in scoring with 9 points each. Senior Elijah Valenzuela was fourth in scoring with six points.
Aguilar and Crayton led the team in rebounds with seven apiece while senior Jerimiah Josiah was third with six rebounds. Senior Jordan Bernal led the team in assists with three.
The Rattlers return home Friday to host the Victoria West Warriors. Victoria West enters the game with an 8-6 overall record and is coming off a loss to South San Antonio in tournament play.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Snake Pit in San Marcos.
