Rattlers start play at Hangry Joes Classic; Lady Rattlers fall to McCollum
The Rattlers kicked off play at the Hays Hangry Joes X-Mas Classic last Monday as San Marcos looks to gather momentum before the start of district play.
In the first game of the tournament, the Rattlers battled the Georgetown Eagles, with San Marcos falling 59-41.
But the Rattlers were able to bounce back.
Moving on to the second round, San Marcos took on Austin Royals Homeschool. San Marcos shook off the loss and bounced back with a 57-40 win over the Royals.
The Rattlers improve to 9-12 overall for the season.
San Marcos will conclude play at the tournament this week.
The Rattlers will open up district play Friday at home against Hays County rival Buda Johnson. The Jaguars enter district play with a 12-9 overall record.
Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Friday at the Snake Pit in San Marcos.
Lady Rattlers fall to McCollum San Marcos was unable to get the road win as the Lady Rattlers fell to the San Antonio McCollum Cowgirls 6752.
The Lady Rattlers fall to 13-7 overall while McCollum improves to 18-3.
San Marcos jumps back into district play Friday as the Lady Rattlers battle Hays County rival Buda Johnson. The Jaguars enter the game with a 4-14 overall record and a 0-2 district record. The Jaguars lost both district games to Converse Judson and Cibolo Steele.
Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Buda Johnson High School.
