The Bobcats won their fourth game in a row as Texas State defeated the Huston Tillotson Rams 95-33.
Texas State reaches .500 for the first time this season, improving their record to 6-6 while the Rams fall to 0-4.
The Bobcats jumped all over the Rams from the first period. After leading 7-5 following a pair of made free throws from Huston-Tillotson, Texas State outscored the Rams 18-5 in the rest of the period to lead 25-10 going into the second period.
The Bobcats failed to give up the lead for the rest of the game, as Texas State defense put the lockdown on the Rams.
Texas State held the Rams to just 13 points in the second half while the Bobcat offense saw four players end the game scoring in double figures.
Senior Myri Walker led the team in scoring with a game-high 21 points while freshman Kaliyah Murphy was second in scoring with 18 points. Murphy also led the team in rebounds with 13 to complete the doubledouble.
Junior Kyla McBride was third in scoring with 11 points while sophomore Kyra Anderson was fourth with 10 points.
Sophomore K.P. Parr led the team in assists with five along with seven rebounds and four points.
Texas State returns to conference play Saturday against James Madison. The Dukes enter the game with a 9-5 overall record and a 1-1 conference record, having lost to Marshall in overtime.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at James Madison.
