CLAY CLUB & TOM WAITS
If getting creative or learning a new skill has been on your new year’s resolutions list, than look no further than the Mud Mermaids Clay Club. This is a new project of the San Marcos Art League, which aims to provide artistic growth opportunities to those interested in the ceramic arts. The club welcomes adults of any skill level. This Saturday is their New Year’s Party at the Dunbar Community Center located at 801 MLK Drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Come mix and mingle and participate in community and creativity. Saturday night The Porch is hosting ‘Tom Waits For No One,’ a tribute concert featuring songs by the prolific singer-songwriter. The concert will feature three bands: Rock Bottom String Band, Dead Music Capital Band, and Cass Brostad. The show is 18+ and starts at 9 p.m. The show is free but it never hurts to bring some cash to tip the bands. Located at 129 E. Hopkins, right on the Square, this event will serenade the soul and bring you closer to the mythical sounds of Tom Waits.
