San Marcos hadn’t been to a regional final in over 33 years let alone won a playoff game in over a decade. But the Lady Rattlers snapped both droughts with a historic playoff run. Defeating both Laredo Alexander and Harlingen, San Marcos advanced to the Regional Semifinals where they defeated the Austin Vandegrift Vipers 49-46 in front of a packed house at Austin Bowie Gymnasium. It marked just the second time in program history that the Lady Rattlers had played in a regional final.
