The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community
Photo walks are a great way for photographers to share tips, show off their cameras and get some great insights into what makes an interesting image by keeping an eye on what fellow camera buffs are up to. San Marcos has many great photo opportunities, and some of the most colorful are the markets, with bright clothing and striking designs from local vendors. SM Photo Friends are hosting a photo walk on Saturday. Meet at the 1 Hour Film Lab, 225 North C. M. Allen Parkway, at 10:30 for kolaches and donuts, followed by a stroll around town. The end destination will be the Vanilla Bean Market, 111 E. San Antonio St., a cool vintage market started by Texas State students. The market primarily features clothes, but be on the lookout for all sorts of vintage goods, from jewelry and artwork to books and records. The market, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., will also feature music, free drinks and cool people, according to their Instagram page. Have fun and take some good photos!
