As we all gear up for freezing temps this weekend I plan to get in some reading time. I’m a born-and-raised Texan so I don’t mess with ice on the roads. Before being locked in this weekend I plan to peruse our local bookstores for my next adventure. I like to start off at Green Heron Bookshop to see what trendy books are on the shelves. They have a great used book section and are connected to an apothecary, so it’s a onestop shop.
Speaking of used books, 2nd Chance Books has been flooding their shelves with new used selections every week. I could spend an hour exploring their selections, or just petting their store cat named Fable.
Lastly I like to check out Old Soul Vintage Exchange which has a whole section full of used and vintage books. They even have a seller who wraps books in paper and writes a few key details which lets you have a ‘blind date with a book.’ This is a great way to explore something new or venture into a whole other genre than you’re used to. No matter where you get your reads, stay warm and safe this weekend!
