The cold weather is going to be brutal this weekend, so my weekend recommendations have more to do with staying indoors. This Texas lady is not about to try to brave true winter weather. For those of you blessed with a fireplace, I recommend lighting that sucker up. My Aunt always raves about using Piñon Firewood because it reminds her of being in New Mexico, and you can buy it at H-E-B. Burn a log and drift away to another state.
And what is a good stay-cation without some flicks? Netflix has two shows I might binge again. “Wayward” stars Toni Collette and is about a town centered around a school for troubled teens in which the headmistress uses cruel and unusual tactics to force compliance. Another fun one is “His and Hers,” which is a murder mystery that is worth a watch. I may warm my soul by ordering one of the noodle soups from Prik Nam Pla. I like the Pork Noodle Soup, which has more of a broth-style soup and the Kao Soy Noodle Soup, which is more of a curry base.
