The Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (TX FAME) Lone Star Chapter invites students, educators, and community members to attend its FAMEous Chili Cookoff Open House on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Texas State Technical College in New Braunfels.
The event will introduce attendees to the two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, a collaborative program between TX FAME and TSTC designed to prepare students for highdemand careers in advanced manufacturing.
The AMT program follows an earn-whileyou- learn model, allowing students to gain more than 1,800 hours of hands-on technical training while working with local industry partners, reducing education costs, and ensuring graduates are workforceready.
Interested candidates can apply to the TX FAME program at the event. The kickoff also provides prospective students with the chance to meet directly with participating employer partners who could serve as their sponsor, and future employer, throughout the AMT program.
“The FAMEous Chili Cook-off event is a great way to showcase how collaboration between education and industry creates real opportunities for students and strengthens our regional workforce,” said Jason Dinscore, TX FAME Lone Star Chapter President. “We’re excited to welcome students to learn more about the AMT program, apply on-site, and connect directly with the employers who make this model successful.”
TX FAME partner companies will compete in a Texas chili competition, with attendees invited to sample and vote for their favorite.
