The Rattlers fell on the road to the San Antonio East Central Hornets, losing 86-79 in a high scoring district game.
San Marcos drops their overall record to 11-21 and their district record to 0-9 while East Central improves to 18-13 overall and 4-6 in district play.
Senior Ernest Lozano led the team in scoring with a game-high 22 points, shooting 6-12 from three-point range.
Senior Jordan Bernal was second in scoring with 16 points followed by freshman Tytan Crayton with 14 points. Senior Peter Aguilar was the fourth Rattler to score in double-figures with 12 points.
Aguilar and Crayton led the team in rebounds with six each followed by junior Jerimiah Josiah with five. Bernal led the team in assists with seven.
The Rattlers return home Friday against the Converse Judson Rockets. The No. 7 ranked Rockets enter the game with a 24-6 overall record and a 7-1 district record.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Friday at the Snake Pit in San Marcos.
