Ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes at a police department?
The San Marcos Citizens Police Academy gives you a firsthand look at how our officers train, respond and serve the community. This is a behindthe- scenes experience, not a hiring or recruiting program.
You’ll spend 11 classes learning directly from SMPD officers about patrol operations, investigations, traffic enforcement, firearms training, driving scenarios and real-world decision making.
What to expect: - One evening a week, 6-9 p.m.
- Two Saturday handson sessions - Relaxed, casual environment - Free course, all materials provided - Dinner provided on Thursday classes Apply by Feb. 27 at sanmarcostx. gov/cpa Who can apply: San Marcos residents, business owners and their employees. Must be age 18 or older.
Class Dates: Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.: March 5, 12, 26; April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; May 7 Saturdays: April 25 (8 a.m.-12 p.m.) and May 9 (9 a.m.-1 p.m) Graduation: May 14
