The Rattlers won their first home game of the season, defeating the New Braunfels Long Creek Dragons 12-2.
San Marcos improves to 3-3 for the season.
The Rattlers struck first when Emalyn Martinez hit a two-run RBI double in the bottom of the first to put San Marcos up 20.
San Marcos then tacked on another run in the first inning with an RBI single by Juliana Garcia, extending the lead to 3-0.
The Dragons put a run up in the next at-bat, hitting a leadoff home run to cut into their deficit at 3-1.
San Marcos responded with an RBI double by Kendra Robledo followed by an RBI single by Emery Cisneros.
Following a groundout RBI, Arianna Flores connected with an RBI single, putting the Rattlers up 7-1.
Garcia added the final run of the at-bat, hitting a two-run RBI single as San Marcos went into the third inning up 9-1.
Long Creek added another run with a home run in the fourth inning but the Rattlers responded by scoring on a groundout.
In the sixth inning, Selena Silva crushed an RBI triple to score another run before Garcia scored the final run on an RBI single to end the game via the run-rule.
Garcia earned the win in the circle, throwing six innings and allowing six hits, one walk while striking out nine batters. Garcia also went 3-3 from the plate with four RBIs. Martinez went 2-3 from the plate with three RBIs.
San Marcos will back back on the road Friday as the Rattlers will take on the Austin Westlake Chaparrals. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
