HUGE LIBRARY BOOK SALE

WHAT’S HAPPENINGTHISWEEKEND?

The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community

For terrific book bargains this weekend, stop by the Friends of the San Marcos Library book sale, one of their biggest ever. In fact, the library is so stuffed with donated books that they’ve stopped taking donations. Seriously folks, this is going to be epic!

The sale happens today, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with lower prices each day. Today, hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $1. On Saturday, the price drops to $1 for hardbacks and 50 cents for paperbacks. And on Sunday, you can fill an H-E-B grocery bag full of books for just 5 dollars! Cash, check or card accepted.

And the selection is terrific. In past sales, I’ve picked up picture books, art books, reference books, novels, graphic novels, just about any kind of book you’re looking for. All of the proceeds from the sale will be invested back into the library. Over the years, the Friends sale has funded new furniture and computer programs for the library.

The first day of the sale on Friday draws a big crowd, so get there early for the best selection.
