Highwayman Show salutes Country legends

The Highwayman Show is a tribute to the timeless music of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. The show will take place on March 5 at 7 p.m. at Buck’s Backyard in Buda, 1750 FM 1626.

Tony Suraci is a soulful vocalist who channels the spirits of all four voices with spot-on performances backed by an all-star band. He has opened for Willie Nelson, co-written tunes with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and acted on television shows like “Melrose Place.”

Special guest, Makayla Phillips is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter who has received the coveted Golden Buzzer on “America’s Got Talent” and was a top-10 finalist on “American Idol.”

Lead guitarist, John Schreffler just won a 2026 Grammy for his work with Robert Randolph, and prior to that, he was best known as the lead guitar player for Shooter Jennings. He has also played with Billy Joe Shaver, Tanya Tucker, Marilyn Manson and Robert Randolph.

Harmonica player Matt Lomeo, is a recent International Blues Champion semi-finalist. He paid his dues on world-famous Beale Street in Memphis, leading the house band at historic Club Handy. His work with Angela Petrilli & The Players has been featured in Rolling Stone magazine.

The band also features Mike Emory on bass and Anthony Suraci drums. All together, they capture the essence of an era with a highenergy show that delivers classics with the thrill of an encore from start to finish.
