It was a rough weekend for the Bobcats who finished the River State Classic with a 4-2 overall record, ending with a 3-2 loss to the Colorado State Rams in the final game.
Texas State and Head Coach Ricci Woodard finish the tournament with a 9-6 overall record.
“We just talked about how we have to execute better all the way around,” Woodard said. “[From] top of the lineup to the bottom. We have to execute better.”
After splitting Thursday’s games with Oklahoma State [5-0] and Kansas City [7-6], the Bobcats opened Friday play with a 3-2 win over the Rams.

On Saturday, the Bobcats grinded out another win, beating Kansas City again 3-1.
Going into Sunday, Texas State started out with a 10-2 run-rule win over the Brown Bears before taking on Colorado State.
The Bobcats and the Rams went into extra innings with Colorado State winning 3-2 while outhitting Texas State 11-2.

The road for Texas State does not get any easier as the Bobcats host Texas A&M Corpus Christi before taking on Southeastern Louisiana in a three-game series, including playing a double- header on Friday. The Lions enter the week with a 13-3 overall record while the Islanders come in with a 3-12 overall record.
“It’s just the same thing,” Woodard said. “The competition’s not really going to change and it doesn’t really matter if we don’t do a better job.”
First pitch for Texas State and Texas A&M Corpus Christi is set for 3 p.m. Thursday at Bob-
