CITY OF SAN MARCOS
The City of San Marcos will host the 2026 UniverCity class beginning on March 10. Originally launched in Spring 2023, UniverCity gives residents a behindthe- scenes look at City Hall and shares myriad opportunities for getting more involved in local government.
This free 8-week program includes informational sessions highlighting city departments and services they provide to residents and visitors. There is no cost to participants and dinner is provided.
The deadline to apply is March 2. Accepted applicants will receive confirmation via email by March 3, and classes will start March 10.

The first class will be held on Tuesday, March 10, followed by a week off for Spring Break. The following six classes will be held on Thursdays beginning March 26, with dinner served beginning at 5:30 p.m. and presentations to follow beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m.

March 10 at City Hall: City Overview, Mayor and City Council, City Manager’s Office, City Clerk’s Office, Communications, City Attorney, Economic Development March 26 at the San Marcos Public Library: Library, Neighborhood Enhancement April 2 at the Dunbar Recreation Center: Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal Court April 9 at the San Marcos Activity Center: Planning and Development Services, Engineering/ CIP April 16 at Fire Station #5: Fire Department, Police Department, Emergency Management and City Marshal’s Office April 23 at the San Marcos Activity Center: Parks and Recreation, Main Street, CVB with Arts, Airport April 30 at the San Marcos Public Services Complex: Public Works, San Marcos Utilities Graduation Date/Location TBD
