CALDO FESTIVAL
The mouthwatering smells of caldo de res and caldo de pollo wafted through the Hays County Courthouse grounds on Saturday, Feb. 21 as the Texas Caldo Cookoff brought friendly competition to San Marcos.
In addition to caldo, there was Spanish rice, pinto beans and chicken pozole. For five bucks, one could get five sam- pling cups and request food from any of the booths.
