Freshman D.J. Hall was named the 2025-2026 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year following the release of the Sun Belt All-Conference awards.
Hall is the first Texas State player to be named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and is the first player to win a conference freshman of the year award since Dameon Sansom in 1994 when the Bobcats were a part of the Southland Conference.
Hall led the Bobcats in scoring, averaging 15.3 points per game, which put the freshman 12th overall in conference. Hall also averaged 7.5 rebounds, a team high and seventh overall in conference.
In addition to being named freshman of the year, Hall was named 2nd Team All-Conference.
Texas State enters the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed as the Bobcats look to capture their first conference tournament title since 1997 to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
