Rodrigues scores hat trick in Rattlers key district win

Bryan Rodrigues scored three goals to complete the hat trick as the Rattlers defeated the Converse Judson Rockets 4-0 to secure a critical district win with just two games remaining in the regular season.

With the district win, the Rattlers are 4-3-3 in district play and 6-5-4 overall. The victory gives San Marcos 15 points, moving the Rattlers up to second place ahead of Buda Johnson who has 14 points followed by New Braunfels Canyon and Schertz Clemens with 13 points.

Along with Rodrigues’ three goals, Aldo Delgado also scored a goal for the Rattlers.

San Marcos is back on the road Tuesday against district leader Cibolo Steele. The Knights enter the game with a 12-5-3 overall record and a 6-1-2 district record coming off a 6-2 win over Judson last Tuesday.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Lehnhoff Stadium in Schertz.

LADY RATTLERS FALL TO JUDSON 

San Marcos fell in their district road game, losing to the Converse Judson Rockets 4-3.

The Lady Rattlers fall to 4-14-1 overall and 27-1 in district play.

San Marcos tied Judson in the first half at 2-2 but two second half goals by the Rockets led to the Lady Rattlers’ defeat.

San Marcos will be back at home Tuesday against Cibolo Steele. The Knights enter the game with a 16-3-1 overall record and a 7-1-1 district record.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Toyota Rattler Stadium.
