The Rattlers completed tournament play at the Corpus Christi Bayfront Bash this past weekend where San Marcos finished with a 1-5 overall record.
The Rattlers finish with a 6-8 overall record as the team restarts district play this week.
San Marcos’ lone win came against Laredo Johnson, where the Rattlers defeated the Wolves 11-1. The Rattlers led 31 going into the bottom of the fourth before San Marcos scored eight runs to seal the win, including a game-winning home run from Selena Silva. Emalyn Martinez finished the game going 3-3 from the plate with three RBIs while Silva went 13 from the plate with three RBIs.
Martinez was also named to the Bayfront Bash All-Tournament team.
The Rattlers dropped games against Austin Westlake [6-3], Brownsville Veterans Memorial [12-0], Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial [101], Corpus Christi Carroll [8-2] and The Woodlands College Park [6-4].
The Rattlers return home Tuesday, back in district play as San Marcos host Cibolo Steele. The Knights enter the game with a 9-4-1 overall record and will play their first district game against the Rattlers. San Marcos won their district game last Tuesday against Judson 20-11.
First pitch is set at 7 p.m. from Rattler Ballpark in San Marcos.
