The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community
A parade from City Park to the San Marcos Library and an all-star lineup of children’s authors and illustrators highlight a fun-filled Saturday celebrating the Tomás Rivera Book Award, a renowned honor now in its 30th year.
The award recognizes top Mexican American books for children and young adults. Guests for the event will include Major Jane, El Centro Mariachi Juvenil and a performance by De Zavala Elementary students.
The parade starts at 9 a.m. and the fair at the library starts at 10 a.m. The fair features workshops, art activities, book signings, book giveaways and even a Coahuiltecan Lotería!
