The Just for Fun parade has been marching the San Marcos streets since 1978, and the parade organizers are hoping to garner some funds this weekend to help keep the tradition alive.
The Just for Fun-raiser will be at The Davenport, 194 S Guadalupe St., on Friday night. There will be live music and a costume contest, so dressing in “fun” attire is encouraged. Entry is donation based with $5 to enter the costume contest, $1 for one vote and $5 for six votes.
There will be live music by Fogdart at 7 p.m., TrumpCard at 8 p.m. and Attic Ted at 9 p.m. The costume contest is at 10 p.m. The parade founder, “Pizza Ron” Aiken, recently passed away, so please have a drink on Friday in his honor as the man that brought years of fun to San Marcos.
