The Aging Well Workshop series, cohosted by TXST’s Alliance of Researchers in Aging (ARIA) and the Price Center, will feature Dr. Christopher Johnson talking about symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and how to manage them. The workshop will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 13.
His discussion will center on global approaches to Alzheimer’s symptoms, focusing on physical exercise, cognitive training, diet and sensory therapies to improve quality of life and cognition.
Johnson is a Gerontologist in the Dementia & Aging Studies graduate program in the Department of Sociology at Texas State University.
Following the formal presentation, participants, who are seated at roundtables, engage in discussions with the speaker, each other, and faculty from the ARIA.
The Price Center and ARIA have been partnering to present a Spring and Fall Aging Well Workshop since 2023. These popular workshops are free and open to all. A reservation is not required but is appreciated.
Recent Aging Well workshop topics have included “The Impact of Interior Design on Living in Place, Mental Health and Coping with Dementia” and “Communication and Advocacy at the Doctor’s Office.”
The Price Center & Garden, located at 222 W. San Antonio St., is a non-profit visual and performing arts and cultural community center dedicated to the healthy enrichment of lives across generations.
