SMHS BASKETBALL ALL-DISTRICT SELECTIONS
Fennell, Good and Perkins make 1st-Team All-District
Seven Lady Rattler basketball players earned All-District honors following the conclusion of the basketball season, with three players earning 1st-Team All-District honors.
San Marcos finished the season with a 21-12 overall record, with a playoff win over Laredo Alexander.
Highlighting the 1st-Team All-District selections was senior Azariah Fennell. Fennell finished the season averaging 12.1 points per game along with 8.4 rebounds per game, a team high.
Senior Melayna Perkins was also named 1st-Team All-District, averaging 13.8 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Rounding out the 1st-Team All-District selections was junior Riliegh Good, who led the team in scoring average with 14 points per game and led the team in assists per game with 3.2 per game. Good also led the team in steals per game with 2.9.
Earning 2nd-Team All-District honors was senior Rianna Garcia. Garcia averaged 3.8 points per game along with 3.8 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game.
Sophomore Aubrey Yanez also made 2nd-Team All-District. Yanez finished the season with 3.1 points per game and 1.1 rebounds per game.
Making honorable mention was the duo of senior Kylie Joseph and freshman Kourtney Blakemore.
Joseph averaged 1.5 points per game while Blakemore averaged 4.8 points per game.
On the boys side, freshman Tytan Crayton earned 2nd-Team All-District honors. Crayton averaged 7.0 points per game and led the team in rebounds with 6.3.
Senior Peter Aguilar and junior Jerimiah Josiah made honorable mention. Aguilar led the team in scoring average with 8.1 points along with 5.3 rebounds per game, while Josiah had 5.8 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
