San Marcans have been saying, “I got it at Twice Blessed” for 25 years now. Founded in 2001, this mission-driven consignment shop, sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of San Marcos, has been fulfilling the dreams of local thrift shoppers while also donating to local charities.
In 2001 a group of First United Methodist Church visionaries set out on an adventure. Their mission was to enrich the lives of those in need in San Marcos and provide income for those who were looking for an outlet to consign ladies’ clothing, jewelry, housewares, knickknacks, bedding, art, books and other items.
Since the beginning, Twice Blessed Shop has been completely staffed by dedicated volunteers. Through all the ups and downs of retail markets, including the Pandemic, this little gem has donated over $1,250,000 to local charities such as School Fuel, Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, St Vincent de Paul Society, United Campus Ministry at Texas State University, and First United Methodist Church of San Marcos.
Stop by the shop, located at 124 West Hopkins St., March 17-21 from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m., and join in the shop’s 25th Anniversary celebration to show appreciation for the people of San Marcos for their support in helping others in our community.
