March is Busy (Again!!) at the Seguin Chamber

March is always a busy month at the Chamber – with the Business Expo, welcoming new members, planning for upcoming events, and many other tasks that keep Chamber staff and volunteers busy. This month of March was no different!

BUSINESS EXPO

The 2026 Business Expo is, as they say, in the books and it was a great one according to the feedback that was received from both the vendors and the attendees. This year the event was attended by more than 400 community members and 39 exhibitors, who all stated that it was one of the best so far!

The new layout and setup design was one of the top comments that was provided, and the feedback was great. The event volunteers and staff have already met to discuss some items to make it even better next year.

LEADERSHIP SEGUIN

Leadership Seguin held their fundraising golf tournament, “Swing for Seguin” that benefits the Seguin Little League. The Leadership 2026 Team has raised about $50K and is short of their goal of $60K - $70K to accomplish all of the scope of work that has been identified by the group and Seguin Little League Leadership.

The work that they are raising funds to accomplish includes a renovation of the dugouts and the restrooms, but if they can raise sufficient funds, they are planning to do some batting cage renovation.

The dugouts need some work such as raising the floor level so that when rain does happen, the dugouts do not flood. Additionally, in the dugout the roof structures are showing some deterioration, and some have some jagged edges that present a safety hazard for the players. The restroom renovation is much needed and has been on the list of needs for at least the past three years to be accomplished.

The class is planning to replace the fixtures and paint the facility, so it looks more up to date and modern. Last, the batting cages need some renovation as well since the netting is deteriorating and occasionally the baseballs escape the netted area which too can cause a hazard for onlookers.

There is still an opportunity to add to the funding that is needed, but the deadline for is April 1 for those that wish to be included on the memorial plaque! You can contact any of the Leadership 2026 Seguin Participants or you can call the Chamber at 830-3796382 and staff can assist.

Do you have an incoming high school junior or senior in 2026 – 2027? If so, Seguin Area Youth Leadership Academy is looking for participants in the 2026 class. The program is a week-long learning experience where leadership, community engagement and team building skills are a byproduct of the learning environment that they are exposed to.

There are still a few openings in the course and there are some scholarships available for students who wish to participate. For more information, you can contact Chamber Staff at 830379-6382.

NEW MEMBER MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

This month marks a year since the migration to the new membership management software system. There have been some great things that have transpired during and since the migration, but there too have been some bumps in the road as expected.

Overall. The feedback from Chamber Members has been positive that the new system looks and feels like it is modern and easy to navigate and find information.

Staff continues to strive to make this system more user friendly and there have been some recent software updates released that have really improved customer experience within their portal. If you are a Chamber Member and have not had time to peruse the new portal, please take some time and check it out – you will be surprised.
