The Rattlers fell in their final game of the season, losing to the Schertz Clemens Buffaloes 9-2.
San Marcos finishes the season with a 9-20 overall record and a 2-10 district record while Clemens improves to 19-7 and 5-6 in district play.
The Buffaloes scored first in the top of the second, scoring on a RBI single to take the early 1-0 lead.
After a fierce pitcher’s duel through the first four innings, the Buffaloes broke through in the top of the fifth, scoring on a Rattler error.
Clemens added two more runs, on an RBI single before another RBI single made it a 5-0 lead.
The Buffaloes scored another run in the top of the sixth with a bases-loaded walk as San Marcos entered the bottom of the sixth trailing 6-0.
Marley Longoria sparked the Rattler offense in the following at-bat, hitting a two-run RBI double while facing two outs to put San Marcos on the board, trailing 6-2.
But Clemens ended the Rattlers’ comeback hopes in the seventh, scoring three runs on a Rattler error to extend the lead 9-2.
San Marcos fell in order in the bottom of the seventh as the Rattlers fell to Clemens.
