Willow Creek will be the featured guests for the Snowbird Concert Series at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. The concert series is presented by the OYOU (Own Your Own Universe) nonprofit, which is based in San Marcos and Martindale.
Willow Creek’s repertoire features classic Americana favorites from artists such as Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, Rodney Crowell and John Hiatt, along with original songs written by band members and other local songwriters. The band’s performances deliver toe-tapping rhythms, rich harmony vocals, and engaging instrumental interplay, creating an eclectic and authentic live music experience that celebrates the spirit of Americana.
Willow Creek is a collaboration of seasoned musicians who have been playing together in various forms since the mid-1980s. The current lineup includes Grant Mazak (lead guitar /vocals), Winston Haun (harmonica/mandolin/vocals), Scott Wade (percussion), Barry Brittain (bass/rhythm guitar/vocals) and Bruce Brittain (rhythm guitar/vocals).
Now in its 11th year, the Snowbird Concert Series is a free, all-ages music series which brings high quality performances by both local and touring artists to Central Texas during the winter season.
Each concert features a unique Q&A segment, offering audiences the opportunity to engage directly with performers. These conversations foster connection, spark inspiration, and deepen appreciation for the creative process. With average attendance ranging from 100 to 150 people per event, the series welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, including older adults, people with disabilities, and those living on fixed incomes.
The Snowbird Concert Series is supported by community donations, the City of San Marcos Arts Commission and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert from 7-7:50 p.m., followed by the Q&A session. Complimentary refreshments include Thundercloud Subs, chips, queso, pastries, tea and coffee. Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church is located at 3039 Ranch Road 12.
