Let me recommend one more birding festival to brighten your day – the 38th HummerBird Celebration set for September 7-20 in Rockport-Fulton, Texas.
Lots to like about this avian affair, including guided field trips, lectures, birding boat excursions and hummer home tours. Plus a nature-related market with birding bargains galore. Visit Rockport- Fulton.org/Birding for more information.
Or if you want to travel a little farther, Haines, Alaska is holding a Migration Celebration May 1-3, which celebrates the return of thousands of migrating birds and “a symphony of sea lions, whales and eagles.”
To experience this special time in “one of the most beautiful places on the planet”, head on up to Haines. For more information, go to visithaines.com.
And if you’d like to really see a glorious part of our planet, I can’t think of a better destination than Italy. It’s an amazing country with lots of World Heritage sites and some classic travel destinations.
My favorites are Lucca, Rome, Florence and the Isle of Capri. Plus the city of Pompeii, still frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79, truly a treasure of the world.
And my goodness, I have never had such wonderful coffee. Italians brew the most exceptional espresso known to mankind. Just outstanding.
Go to Italy for the marvelous sights and scenery, but while there, drink all the coffee you can.
You’ll never find a better brew!
