Burrell no longer with program following arrest over Deadly Conduct to Discharge Firearm
Texas State running back Greg Burrell is no longer with the team according the program. Burrell was arrested last Thursday and later released after being charged with Deadly Conduct to Discharge Firearm.

Running back Greg Burrell is no longer with Texas State according to the program. 

Burrell was booked into the Hays County Jail Thursday, April 16 and was charged with Deadly Conduct to Discharge Firearm. Burrell was later released on cash bond. 

Burrell was projected to be the Bobcats' starting running back after rushing for 671 yards and three touchdowns on 100 carries during the 2025 season.  Burrell transferred from UNLV, where during his freshman season rushed for 366 yards and three touchdowns for the Rebels.
